Powder Quality and Process Control

NewayAero ensures consistency by using aerospace-grade Ti-6Al-4V powders with tightly controlled particle size and purity. During the SLM process, scanning speed, laser power and layer thickness are strictly monitored to guarantee stable melt pools and prevent defects such as balling or incomplete fusion. Each build is traceable with complete process parameter records.

Post-Process Densification and Property Enhancement

To achieve full density and fatigue resistance equivalent to forged titanium, all Ti-6Al-4V parts undergo hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and heat treatment. These post-processes eliminate internal porosity, refine microstructures and stabilize mechanical properties across the entire component. Final machining is performed via CNC machining or EDM to meet aerospace-grade tolerances.

Inspection and Validation

Each SLM-printed part is inspected using non-destructive testing, CT scanning and metallographic evaluation. Advanced material testing and analysis verifies tensile strength, fatigue performance, microstructural stability and chemical composition. Components destined for aerospace and aviation applications receive serial certification and full documentation for traceability and compliance.

Hybrid and Application-Specific Manufacturing

Depending on the end-use, SLM components can be combined with traditional methods such as precision forging or casting. This hybrid approach allows NewayAero to tailor properties for high-stress areas, optimize cost and ensure long-term reliability in high-demand systems like turbines, structural mounts and high-pressure fluid modules.
