High-Temperature Performance

Hastelloy X offers exceptional oxidation and creep resistance up to 1,200 °C, making it well-suited for extreme environments such as combustor liners and turbine hot sections. When built through SLM 3D printing, the alloy’s fine rapid-solidified microstructure supports excellent strength retention under high mechanical stress and thermal cycling.

Process Stability and Printability

Compared with other nickel-based alloys, Hastelloy X shows relatively low susceptibility to cracking during solidification, providing a stable printing window. This makes it easier to process layer-by-layer with consistent melt pool behavior, reducing the risk of warping and fusion defects.

Corrosion and Oxidation Resistance

Its strong resistance to chloride-induced corrosion and oxidation enables reliable use in aggressive gas, fuel and chemical environments. This property is valuable for components operating in oil and gas systems as well as power generation and aerospace combustion modules.

Post-Processing Compatibility

Hastelloy X responds effectively to hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and heat treatment, which enhance microstructural homogeneity and eliminate porosity. Precision machining via EDM or CNC enables the achievement of tight tolerances for aerospace and energy applications that require high reliability.
