SLM produces rapid solidification of AlSi10Mg, resulting in a fine and homogenous microstructure. This enhances mechanical properties—especially tensile strength and stiffness—allowing lightweight components to perform reliably under structural loads in aerospace and aviation and automotive applications.
The layer-by-layer fabrication of SLM improves fatigue resistance by aligning material distribution with stress paths. AlSi10Mg also maintains stability under thermal cycling, making it suitable for casings, housings and heat dissipation modules in demanding environments such as power generation.
SLM supports topology-optimized designs, internal cooling channels and lattice structures that are difficult to produce with traditional manufacturing methods. These features enable AlSi10Mg components to achieve higher efficiency, reduced mass and improved structural integrity.
After printing, surface finishing and precision features are refined using CNC machining. Optional heat treatment can further enhance mechanical stability and reduce residual stress, thereby improving long-term reliability.
