Precision forming techniques such as vacuum investment casting and equiaxed crystal casting reduce segregation and porosity at the microstructural level. To eliminate internal voids, high-pressure post-treatment via hot isostatic pressing (HIP) is applied, ensuring high density and fatigue resistance across pressure and temperature cycles.

Process monitoring includes thermal regulation, form accuracy, mold tracking, and documentation to prevent defects and maintain traceability.

Non-Destructive Testing and Final Validation

Containment system accessories undergo extensive non-destructive testing (NDT). Ultrasonic inspection, radiography, and CT scanning detect internal defects, while dye penetrant inspection is used to identify surface cracks and casting flaws. Components requiring sealing precision proceed to tolerance control via superalloy CNC machining, followed by dimensional measurement and leakage testing.

Environmental simulation tests—such as corrosion exposure, thermal cycling, and stress loading—validate component reliability under long-term operational conditions.

Containment system accessories must meet strict nuclear-grade standards. Each component requires detailed manufacturing records, inspection logs, post-processing data, and batch traceability. These records ensure compliance with safety regulations and enable predictive maintenance throughout decades of reactor operation.
